yeah, it mustn't really be a student thing.
it can be a home thing because that's where they have need for it and once it comes to that, your parents can come in and make it easier.

I trust that people can swap 2 years worth of NEPA bills and buy something reliable like this. WE just have to show them that it is possible!

    Alright, the setup is completely!
A very rugged one though but that's just what we have for now.

And it might be that way for a while.
2 pics to say it all.

    solar panel installation .jpg
That's the mother of the whole stuff
Collecting the sun light which is are fast disappearing due to the position of the panel.

And converting it to DC at about 30Volts.
Then this one shows both the batteries, Inverter and what the setup is powering.

    testing the Inverter .jpg

At the moment, not so much.
    A TV.
    2 laptops
    Some smartphones
    Gotv decoder

    And that's it!
Just those and it's running cool.

And of course, noiseless compared to generators.

Two batteries are connected although 1 is enough to power the whole system.

I also think it can power an electric iron but I don't want to test it right now.

So, thanks for following this thread of mine.. A Rant!

And we have been able to put this up in just few days, the major constraints being money.

I will love you to do the same for your home as it's worth it.

The whole stuff can fit in anywhere but you have to make sure that you aren't buying fake.

If you wanna speak with me about this over the phone, please call 07037238225.

Thanks once again for following up with your boy and I wish you well!

Prezzy, nice work...Thanks for the update...Wanna ask a question...Is possibke for both sunlight and electricity to power it up...Like the normal inverter, people make use of electricity or generator majorly to power up the battery. MY QUESTION NOW IS THAT IS IT POSSIBLE TO COMIBINE BOTH/EITHER SUNLIGHT & ELECTRICITY POWERING ESPECIALLY DURING RAINY SEASON WHEN WE HAVE LESS SUNLIGHT...

    it's not difficult at all.
    • you can either use electricity alone
    • or you use solar panels alone
    • or you use both of them.

It gets complicated when you chose to depend on the both of them to keep your system running bro.
you will definitely need a skillful engineer to get it done because inverters don't come like your smartphone where everything you need is in one place.

You get to assemble them before they can work properly bro.

PLEASE SHARE THIS POST IF YOU FIND IT USEFUL.

Someone on whatsapp may be looking for this information and will be grateful if you bring it to him or her!
    That's all i ask.

Something interesting happened actually. It's both a tragedy and also taught me some lessons!

    Bottom line...
That's incredible. It's actually the good part.. Here's the other part of it.

The panel supplies about 30 Watts while the charge controller can handle about 17 Watts.

So, the controller could not handle what it's getting hence it couldn't charge the battery for over 7 days.

Initially, we thought it was going to take some time to charge up because the batteries are connected in parallel but after so many days and the charge controller hasn't indicated the green light which shows the battery is filled, we started having doubts.

Finally, the setup went off completely yesterday while I was using it.

It couldn't come up again which indicates that the controller has in fact done no job and also confirmed our suspicion to be right.

finally, a new controller is arriving today and I will fix it up and then charge the batteries properly before using them.

    Deductions

    - Good batteries still exist in the market!

-You've got to check everything thoroughly to make sure they are working after installation

    - It's not done until it's DONE!

I found a video guide which I will easily recommend for anyone!.. Here it is..

It will help you to understand how the Inverter/solar panels is fixed and you can do it yourself at home with little knowledge of how electricity works though I will encourage you to go for an electrician if you don't understand electricity
